How should I pay for the gemstones?
We accept Visa, Delta, MasterCard, Eurocard, Switch and Solo cards.
You can safely enter your entire credit card number via our secure server,
which encrypts all submitted information.
CVV is an anti-fraud security feature to help verify that you are in
possession of your credit card.
If you are using a Visa or MasterCard to pay for this purchase, you must
provide the 3-digit CVV (Customer Verification Value) which can be found
after the end of the credit card number (or sometimes your card will have
the last 4 digits of your card number, followed by the CVV code) on the
signature panel on the back of the credit card.
To provide you with an additional layer of security, all credit card numbers are
stored on a separate encrypted database. After you type it in, your complete credit
card number is transferred to this secure database across a proprietary one-way interface.
This database is not accessible by any of Icgems.com employees or administrators,
and the credit card number is not stored anywhere else.
Additionally, you always can indicate, that you don´t want to save your
card on file, by unmarking the appropriate option box in the credit card form and
the credit card will be not saved.
Finally, we have a way for you to use your credit or debit card without ever
having to enter the complete number on the Internet. When filling out the order
form, just select "Pay by Fax" option. This gives us a way to track
your order but guarantees your security. Then fax us your credit or debit
card number. Remember to include your e-mail address and order reference on the fax.
We also accept wire transfer (telegraphic transfer or TT) and checks payments.

What about order delivery insurance?
Our insurance covers loss of goods on arrival and during transit from CAROL I C GEMS (icgems.com) office to your delivery address and we charge 1 USD + 1% of the total goods value.
We´re happy to send your order to any address in the world and we´re proud
to offer a fast, efficient and hassle-free delivery service. However, due to the high risk of fraud and mail lost with international orders we have had to implement mandatory delivery insurance for for all orders, which is: 1 USD + 1% of the total goods value.
Our mandatory delivery insurance for all orders insurance covers loss of your merchandise on arrival and during transit from CAROL I C GEMS (www.icgems.com) office to your delivery address and we reserve the right to hold up or refuse to ship any international order it deems fraudulent. For more information see Delivery Insurance.
Is my credit card safe?
Absolutely! In fact, it is safer to use your credit card over the Internet than in a restaurant or department store. Icgems.com servers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),
an encryption technology that works with Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer and AOL´s browser so that only Icgems.com´s computers read a buyer´s personal information. If you still aren´t convinced, take comfort in this in the unlikely event that someone makes unauthorized charges on a credit card because of an Icgems.com transaction, the cardholder will simply not be held liable. For more information see Security Policy.
How do I know if you received my order?
After you click "CONFIRM THIS ORDER" button, you should receive a confirmation page with a order refence number on it. If you do not get a confirmation number, you should see a message at the top of the order form indicating why the order could not be processed. Correct the problem and click "CONFIRM THIS ORDER" again to send the revised information. We will also send you the Order Confrimation e-mail, with your order details and order reference number. For more information see completing the order checkout.
Why is my credit card number not being accepted?
Most likely, you selected a method of payment that differed from the card number
you entered. For instance, you might have selected Visa as your method of payment and
then accidentally entered the credit card number from your MasterCard. You also may have
entered an extra digit in the credit card number. Please check to make sure you entered
the card number correctly and try again.
Remember, that your credit or debit card will be billed (appears on your statement) by Icgems.com in sterling (British pounds). We accept all major currencies, but the amount
charged may vary slightly due to currency fluctuations.
How do I know I will be making a value purchase?
Icgems.com purchases thousands of gemstones every year to ensure we have
an ample selection on-hand. We select certain gemstones from large batches of
gemstone varieties which we feel represent the best value for our customers.
Because we buy in such large quantities and because we acquire these directly
from the source supply, you can be assured that the gemstones you purchase
from Icgems.com represent an excellent value; you would be extremely unlikely to
purchase a set or loose gemstone of comparable size and quality from a retail
establishment for the same price, because price mark-ups are considerably higher in retail establishments.
Please note that the gemstones you see on our Website represent a small fraction
of our inventory, and feel free to inquire if there is something special you are
looking for, - chances are we have it!
We do not deal in synthetic or created gemstones and all of our gemstones have
been authenticated by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certified Gemologists
and we grade and price our gemstones based on GIA grading systems for color, clarity,
cut, and carat weight.
Finally, all of the photographs you see on our website are true photographs of the gemstone you will be purchasing from us. We do not use "stock" or "substitute" photographs to represent our gemstones. For more information see Trading Guarantee.
How do I know that the advertised carat weight is correct?
The carat weight and dimensions for each stone have been checked and double
checked here at the Icgems.com inhouse laboratory. All of our gemstone measurements
have been made in millimeters and the gemstone weight measured and reported in carats.
A "carat" is the equivalent of one-fifth of a gram, and 25.4 millimeters
equals one inch. Gemstone varieties vary in density, meaning a one-carat Sapphire, for
example, will appear smaller than a one-carat Emerald, if they are cut in a similar fashion.
Cutting style can also influence how large a gemstone appears "face up"; a deeply cut gemstone will appear smaller than a shallow cut gemstone, all other things being equal. Basically, the higher the density of a gemstone variety, the smaller it is likely to appear "face-up", all other things being equal. And since the pictures of the gemstones
on our website are being viewed under magnification, you should look at the dimensions
for the stone from the gemstone description and obtain a measuring device to get
an accurate idea of how large the gemstone you are considering purchasing will appear "face-up".
All photographs are taken with a digital camera and are actual photographs of each of
the gemstones in our inventory. We do our best to show an image that is as close to the
actual gemstone as possible. We do not editing our images with saturation or hue. Please
note, that not eye visible inclusions can be seen on the picture. That happens because our
photos are taken at high magnification.
How do I know the stone is what you claim it to be?
Gemstones are unique creations of nature and do not always submit themselves easily to identification or classification by gemologists. In some cases even gemological laboratories cannot agree regarding the treatment, the origin, or even the final classification of a particular gemstone.
Our complimentary Gemstone Identification Certificate is available for all
of the single gemstones we offer on our website. The certificate is accessible
at item details page and can be downloaded and printed. This certificate is
available in PDF format and contains a color picture of the gemstone, a brief
summary of the physical and optical properties and a description of the clarity.
Indications of treatments and origin are also included. You will need Adobe Acrobat
Reader to view and print this certificate. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader,
you may download the most recent free version. For the best printing results,
try to use a high-resolution color printer and glossy photo paper.
Alternatively, the Gemstone Identification Certificates for single stones
are available thru the AIGS (Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences). The AIGS Full Identification Report with a photograph is available for single stones
only and can be added to your order from the Shopping Cart at a cost of USD 50.00.
The A4 size certificate is printed on glossy paper and contains a small color picture
of the respective stone, a summary of the gemological tests and their results and the
AIGS stamp and signature. A brief description of inclusions, treatments and/or any
other relevant comments may also be included. The mini report is available for single
stones only and can be added to your order from the Shopping Cart at a cost of USD 17.00.
The A size certificate is printed on matte paper and includes a brief description report
and examination summary for the gemstone.
